As the founder of Lewis Kannegieter Law, Ltd., I’m Jennifer R. Lewis Kannegieter, and I’m driven by a lifelong passion for making a positive impact in people’s lives through the law. After graduating from law school in 2007, I started my own law practice right here in Monticello, where I’ve had the privilege of assisting clients with a wide range of legal matters.

Throughout my career, I’ve authored several books on estate planning, including the Total Estate Plan Organizer, designed to simplify the planning process for individuals and families alike. My commitment to providing accessible and comprehensive resources underscores my dedication to helping clients navigate their legal affairs with ease and understanding.
Family-Centered Approach
I reside in Monticello, Minnesota with my husband, two sons, and our dogs. Together we enjoy visiting our cabin and hiking in state parks. To me, the importance of family is more than a business motto; it is a way of life. I maintain a flexible schedule to maximize time with my sons and family. I understand firsthand the importance of family and the need to protect what matters most. My experiences as both a legal professional and a family-oriented individual have shaped my approach to serving clients.
Community Engagement
Beyond my legal practice, I’m deeply involved in the Monticello community. I have been a member of the Monticello Women of Today since 2008. Once my children started school I became active with the Parent Teacher Organizations, often holding board positions and chairing fundraisers. I was honored to serve on the Monticello School Board 2018-2022. I began volunteering at the Monticello Help Center with my children in 2023. I am an adult leader for Scouts BSA in Monticello Troop 270 and Pack 272.
